"Ron's NFL WILD CARD PLAYOFF PREVIEW" by Ronald Carthen

First of all let me apology for not doing a lot of writing for a while. I needed a very long break to reevaluate what I want to do with the site. Now let's get ready for this weekend's big NFL Wild Card Weekend. I'm ready to see if Michael Vick and the Eagles are ready to beat the Packers, Peyton Manning taking it to Rex Ryan once again, if the Ravens can be road warriors once again in the postseason, and will a 7-9 playoff team will have much success against the Super Bowl defending champs. Let's look at this weekend's big games and let the debates begin.

Saints will beat the 7-9 Seahawks but it may be closer then you think!!!!!!!
- This will be the Saints 3rd game in 12 days
- Chris Ivory (foot) and Pierre Thomas (ankle) will be on the Injured Reserve for the entire postseason, which will leave Julius Jones and Reggie Bush to carry the load
- Saints are 0-3 all-time in road playoff games
- Drew Brees led the NFC with 4,620 passing yards and 33 touchdown passes, but threw 22 interceptions this season. He only threw 11 interceptions last season.
- (7-9) Seahawks are the first losing team in playoff history to win a division title
- Matt Hasselbeck has won his last four home playoff games
- Hasselbeck's best two games in the last six seasons has come against the Saints (366 yards in a lost this season and 362 yards against them in 2007)
- The last defending Super Bowl champs to win a playoff game was the 2003 Patriots

Colts will beat the Jets but I'm a little nervous about this one!!!!!!!
- This will be a rematch of last year's AFC Championship game, when the Colts beat the Jets 30-17 to advance to the Super Bowl
- Peyton Manning is 5-1 vs Rex Ryan's defenses and has thrown for 1,513 passing yards, 12 TD and 2 INT as well as 2-0 against him in the playoffs
- Manning has thrown for 4,700 passing yards, 33 TD and 17 INT this season
- The Colts are the first playoff team to not have a 500-yard rusher since the 1998 Packers. They finished 29th in the league in rushing with 1,483 yards
- The Jets tied for 4th with the Titans with 40 sacks this season
- Jets have lost 3 of the last 5 games and has given up 23.4 ppg in that span
- The Jets are 3rd in stopping the run allowing only 90.9 yards per game and 3.6 yards per carry

Ravens will beat the Chiefs and be the dominant road warriors that they are!!!!!!!
- The Ravens have played their last 5 postseason games on the road. They have gone 3-2 in that span.
- Ravens gave up only 17 points in the last 2 games. They rank 3rd in the league with allowing only 16.9 ppg
- Ray Lewis finished 5th with 139 tackles and Ed Reed led the league with 8 interceptions this season
- The Chiefs haven't been to the playoffs since 2006
- Chiefs are 1st in rushing with 2,627 total yards and 164.2 yards per game; Jamaal Charles finished 2nd in the league with 1,467 rushing yards this season.
- Dwayne Bowe finished with 1,162 receiving yards and an NFL-best 15 touchdown passes

Packers will upset Michael Vick and the Eagles!!!!!!!
- The Packers have to win 3 road games to make it to the playoffs. They have lost their last 4 playoff games on the road.
- Packers finished the season 3-5 on the road....No team in playoff history has ever won the Super Bowl with a losing road record and no NFC sixth seed has ever advance to the Super Bowl
- The Packers finished 2nd in the league allowing only 15.0 ppg and forced 32 turnovers
- Michael Vick will play in his 1st playoff game since 2004 when he was with the Falcons
- The Eagles finished 4-4 at home this season, the worst of any playoff team this season
- Desean Jackson has 80 plays with 20 yards or more, the most of any team in the league
