"FAVRE RETIRE???? I won't believe it until Week 1" by Ronald Carthen

This Brett Favre story is really starting to piss me off on so many levels. I'm sitting at work and all of a sudden I read the news wires and see an Associated Press source says Brett Favre will not return to the Vikings. I decide to post a facebook status and feel bad for Favre but excited that my favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, are ready to take over the world. Then a friend comments on my FB status and reminded me that we shouldn't fall for this garbage. Me and him don't agree with everything but he may be right for once.

Last year he tells Brad Childress and the Vikings that he was going to stay retired and not play in his 19th NFL season. Then after Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels didn't bring any spark in the preseason, Favre decides he wants to sign with the team. We should have seen that coming as we all know he can't stand training camp, especially if he already knows the playbook already.

It was all worth as Favre threw 4,202 passing yards, 33 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions. He led the Vikings to a 12-4 record and a No. 2 seed in the NFC. After he led the Vikings to a 34-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional Playoff game, he received the worst beating of his career and threw an interception to Saints cornerback Tracy Porter before the end of regulation that led to a Garrett Hartley game-winning field goal in an overtime lost to the Saints 31-28 in the NFC Championship.

I'm still pissed off that he waited this long to have ankle surgery before training camp begins. Now he's working very hard to try to get back and working out at a high school in Mississippi like he always do. Now I'm not sure if he's coming back thanks to his ankle.

The Vikings are so desperate they are willing to pay him $20 million this season ($16 million guaranteed and $4 million incentives). That's a $7 million increase from what he is originally suppose to get paid this upcoming season.

Favre please come back for you 20th season in the league and bring the fun and excitement to the game like you always do. I also want my Packers to get a crack at you one more time and they will beat you this season. You already know this team has the potential to finish the job and head to the Super Bowl this season. Get your ankle ready for the Thursday night opener against the Saints and we will all be happy. To any other source that wants bring up anymore stories, please keep them to yourselves until we find out the real truth. Can't wait for this season to begin but Favre just one more season please!!!!!
