LT to visit the VIKINGS...OMGoodness written by Ronald Carthen!!!!!!!

This NFL off-season season has been insane already, but now one of the best running backs ever could possibly go to the Minnesota Vikings and play behind Adrian Peterson? LaDainian Tomlinson will be visiting the Vikings on Thursday.

I'm a Packers fan and right now I'm worried about our 2010 season. If Brett Favre returns for his 20th season, he can hand the ball off to either L.T. or "All day" that's insane.
Favre will have a pair of running backs who ran for a combined 16,974 rushing yards and 178
rushing touchdowns in their careers. I know they let Chester Taylor go but this would ask Vikings fans "Who is Chester Taylor?"

I blame this all on Chargers general manager A.J. Smith. I know L.T. is 30 years old, but he has a little something left in him. Sure he ran for only 730 rushing yards on 223 carries and 3.3 yards a carry, all career lows, but you may have just formed a possible best 1-2 punch in NFL history. Let me remind you of a Packers GM named Ted Thompson. You know the guy who thought Brett Favre had nothing left to give to the Packers franchise. The joke was on Ted when this past season, when a 40-year old Favre torched the Packers twice and was one game away from the Super Bowl after losing to the Saints in the NFC Championship game. A.J. you are about to be that same guy when L.T. helps out a good Vikings running game that could help the team win the Super Bowl next year.

Everyone wants to believe 30 is the new 40 when it comes to running backs in the league but here's a history lesson for you A.J. In the 1984 season, 30-year old Chicago Bear running back
Walter Payton ran for 1,684 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. In the following season, he ran for 1,551 rushing yards and nine touchdowns, followed by another 1,000 rushing season with 1,333 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. How about the all-time leading rusher and soon to be hall of famer Emmitt Smith. In the 1999 season, 30-year old Emmitt ran for 1,397 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. In the following year, he ran for 1,203 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns, followed by a 1,021 rushing yards and three rushing touchdown season. How about Barry Sanders last season in the league in 1998, when he rushed for 1,491 rushing yards and four touchdowns. What about Thomas Jones, who just signed a two-year contract with the Chiefs, who ran for 1,312 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns for the Jets last season, by the way he was 30. This season, he ran for 1,402 rushing and 14 rushing touchdowns to help the Jets to be the best rushing team in the league.

So as you can see, the Vikings have a great chance of being the most dominate team next season. L.T. might of had a set back last season, but don't let that fool you. Once he signs that big contract with the Vikings and if Favre comes back for his 20th season, what will slow this team down, themselves and hopefully my Packers. A.J. you might have slowly ruined the Chargers franchise with this decision, but only time will tell. I can't wait until the 2010 season already and just maybe L.T. will finally go to the Super Bowl and get the respect that he deserves.
