"Byron Scott new coach of the Cavs but is it the right decision????!!!!!" by Ronald Carthen

I'm very happy that Byron Scott will be the head coach the Cleveland Cavaliers, but taking the job without knowing if LeBron James is coming back is a very big risk. With this free agency I'm not sure if LeBron will come back to play for Cleveland or play for another team to build his brand.

I think Lakers assistant Brian Shaw and Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo made the right decision to turn down the job. They know if LeBron didn't return to the team this season they would be screwed. I hope Scott made the best decision for him and his family or else this would be a disaster. Nobody will be willing to play at Cleveland without LeBron. Come on would you go to there or play somewhere like New York or Miami other then play for a sports town that has Indians and Browns.

Maybe this situation could be a good thing for LeBron. He will play for a man that coached Jason Kidd and the Nets to back-to-back NBA Finals in 2002 and 2003. He won coach of the year in 2008 for leading Chris Paul and the Hornets to a 56-win season. He played for 14 seasons and won three championships in 11 seasons with the Lakers. This could intrigue LeBron to staying with a man that knows what it takes to win championships as a player.

If LeBron stays in Cleveland with Scott, I know they'll find a way to get Chris Paul to come to the Cavs. Paul played for Scott from 2004-2010 and it would be a great idea to see a King James-CP3 duo. The problem is Paul has two more years until he becomes a free agent and I know the Hornets are not going to trade CP3 unless he demands it.

Scott needs LeBron back badly in order to make this work. I think his experience with the Nets and Hornets will make him a better coach. But if LeBron goes elsewhere, this deal will blow up right in his face and it'll be the end of Cleveland sports as we know it. I really hope he knows what he's doing.
