Mike Brown Fired plus NBA East and West Recaps!!!! by Ronald Carthen

We all knew this day would come but it was just the matter of when. The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired Mike Brown before the deadline which they could have paid him $4.5 million in the last year of his extension.

Don't get me wrong he did an outstanding job and did everthing he could do. He was 314-177 in five seasons as the head coach. He won Coach of the Year last season after leading the Cavs to 66 wins, took them the their only NBA Finals in 1997, and led them to the playoffs each season he was the coach. The only problem was that he didn't meet expectations in the last two seasons. The Cavs were expected to win the NBA championship in the last two seasons, but his early exit with the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and their exit against the Orlando Magic in the East finals led to his firing. It even looked like many players began to not believe in him at all.

Now that he's gone what happens to the Cavs going forward. Either LeBron James will give Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and general manager Danny Ferry his input on the next head coach or this is a sign of LeBron leaving and end a very short era.

We'll see but the next head coach will play a big role on what'll happen to LeBron in the next couple of months.

The Suns "Bigs" and their D finally showed up in this series!!!!!

The Lakers had every opportunity to win this game, but Amar'e Stoudimire had other plans and didn't want the Suns to end their season just yet. Amar'e tied his career playoff-high 42 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and led his team to a big win in Phoenix. He only scored 41 points and nine rebounds in his first two games of this series. In the second half, he scored 29 points on 10-of-12 shooting and finally played like a true big. It's about time he finally crash the boards and made everyone fear him on the court. The last player to 40 and 10 in a game against the Lakers was Hakeem Olajuwon in 1986.

I was very impressed how the Suns played in their zone defense. The Lakers looked very lost at times on offense and made bad shot selections. They made L.A. shoot 32 three-pointers and only made nine of them. At the end of the night, they shot 48.3% from the field, but they shot way too many threes which hurt them throughout the night. They have to find a way to get in the paint and not settle for bad shots.

The big X-factor in this game was Phoenix Suns center Robin Lopez. Lopez drop 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting, which the Suns needed in this serious. I have to say what he did to Derek Fisher was down right dirty. When Lopez ran up to Fisher with his arms up, I didn't expect him to intentionally scrap Fisher's head. We all know that was intentional but I don't expect nothing more then a small fine if the league decides to punish him. A little altercation before you head down should have never resulted to that.

Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol played well in this game despite the fact that they lost. They combined for 59 of the Lakers 109 points on 24-for-38 shooting but everybody has to step up. Derek Fisher at least drop 18 points, but Lamar Odom and Ron Artest only combined for 22 points and was missing on offense.

I still expect the Lakers to win in five and I know they'll find a better way to slow down Amar'e in this series.

The Celtics will sweep the Magic tonight!!!!!!!!

Before we all say goodbye to the Orlando Magic after Game 4 of their series, let me just say that the Magic should be embarrassed in their 94-71 lost in Boston. It's Game and you are down 0-2 in the series and you only shot only shot 36.9% from the field and only made 8-of-30 three-pointers, unacceptable!!!!!

How about someone have a talk to Dwight Howard as well. He only drop seven points on 3-of 10 shooting, seven rebounds, and three blocks. I'm not taking nothing away from the Celtics defense, but Dwight should have been much better against Kendrick Perkins. Can he please find his back bone in this series like he did in Game 2. He's only averaging 16.7 points and 9.0 rebounds in this series, at least finish this series with a bang.

Don't even get me started on Jameer Nelson, only averaging 15.4 points in this series, and Rashard Lewis, averaging only 5.0 points, they have been a huge disappointment in this series. At least Vince Carter, averaging 18.0 points, is putting up a decent effort.

When Rajon Rondo slid to the floor, grab the ball, and made the lay in, that put away the series for good in my opinion. Jason Williams should be more hungry then that to get the ball with his season on the line. It was great to see how easy Rondo made those 12 assists look in a horrible defensive effort by the Magic. I'm looking forward to see him finish off Jameer Nelson for good in this series.

Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen combined for 39 points in this game and are hungry for their second title. Pierce's promise is looking great right now and you can expect those brooms to come out tonight as they have made this series into a series of  NBA summer league games.

How about Glen Davis stepping up in this game and leading the team with 17 points off the bench. If you he continues to play this hard, the Celtics will be tough to stop.
